MLA Anuradha Rana Inspects Jahalma Nala Bridge in Lahaul and Spiti, Says Traffic to Begin Soon After Completion.

MLA Anuradha Rana on Tuesday inspected the under-construction Jahalma Nala Bridge on Sansari-Killar-Thirot-Tandi road in Lahaul and Spiti district to review the progress of the project and assess the pace of ongoing work. During the inspection, Major Paras Kochar, Officer Commanding (OC) of 94 RCC, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), was also present.
During the visit, the MLA directed officials to ensure that the bridge is completed at the earliest while maintaining high standards of construction quality. She emphasized that timely completion of the project is essential for improving connectivity and meeting the long-standing transportation needs of the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Anuradha Rana said that the Border Roads Organisation has assured her that the remaining construction work will be completed soon and that vehicular movement will begin immediately after the bridge is ready for use. She noted that the bridge will significantly improve road connectivity for residents of the Pattan Valley and surrounding areas.
The MLA said the bridge will not only ease daily travel for local residents but will also provide a major boost to the region’s agricultural and horticultural sectors. Farmers will be able to transport their produce to markets more efficiently, reducing travel time and improving access to marketing facilities.
Rana appreciated the Border Roads Organisation for carrying out construction work in the region’s challenging geographical and climatic conditions. She also acknowledged the valuable cooperation extended by local Panchayat representatives and the Jahalma Mahila Mandal, whose support has contributed to the smooth progress of the project.
Expressing confidence in the project’s timely completion, the MLA said the opening of the Jahalma Nala Bridge would provide a permanent solution to a long-pending connectivity issue and contribute to the socio-economic development of the area by ensuring safer and more reliable transportation for residents.
