A joint conference of active members from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Dharampur and Tihra mandals was held on Wednesday at Ambedkar Bhavan, Sajyau Piplu in Mandi district. The event was chaired by the respective mandal presidents and witnessed participation from 423 active members, including office-bearers of both mandals, heads of party cells and wings, and elected representatives from Panchayati Raj institutions, including Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members, along with Panchayat Pradhans and Up-Pradhans.

Prominent attendees included Rajat Thakur, a rising political leader from Dharampur, and former Himachal Pradesh minister Rajender Garg, who currently serves as the party in-charge for the Dharampur assembly constituency.

As part of BJP’s ongoing mass outreach campaign, responsibilities were assigned to booth-level workers. These workers are set to engage with senior party members, Dalit community members, and local influencers through door-to-door campaigns until April 13. The campaign aims to highlight the failures of the current state government and the alleged spread of mafia rule, with the distribution of informative pamphlets at the household level.

On April 13, as part of the campaign, booth workers will clean Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statues and organize a lamp-lighting ceremony. On April 14, Ambedkar Jayanti will be celebrated with garlanding ceremonies at the mandal level.

In addition to the special guests, the event was attended by key leaders including Lekh Raj Thakur (President, Dharampur Mandal), Vinod Thakur (President, Tihra Mandal), Surender Thakur and Lalit Thakur (General Secretaries, Dharampur), Yash Pathania and Karm Singh Thakur (General Secretaries, Tihra), district representatives Desh Raj Palsra and Vishal Thakur, Zila Parishad members Bandana Guleria and Meena Devi, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Rakesh Kumar, state executive member Gopal Saklani, and numerous Panchayat heads.

The conference emphasized unity, grassroots mobilization, and respect for social icons, setting the tone for the party’s upcoming political activities in the region.
