In a proud moment for the tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti, Gram Panchayat Shansha has earned national recognition by securing the first prize under Theme-7 (Socially Just and Socially Secure Village) at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sustainable Development Awards 2025.<\/p>\n

The award highlights the panchayat\u2019s exceptional performance in ensuring inclusive growth, strengthening social security systems, and delivering key welfare services across all sections of society. The achievement has brought widespread appreciation and pride to the district and the state.<\/p>\n

District Council (Zila Parishad) President Veena Devi, while expressing immense pleasure and satisfaction, stated that this honor is the result of the tireless efforts and coordinated work of multiple officials, employees, and the local community. She emphasized that Shansha Panchayat has become a model for rural development at the national level.<\/p>\n

In her statement, Veena Devi extended her heartfelt gratitude to MLA Anuradha Rana for her visionary leadership and continuous support. She also acknowledged the proactive role of Deputy Commissioner Kiran Bhadana (Lahaul-Spiti) for her dynamic administration and guidance.<\/p>\n

She further thanked Neeraj Chandla (CEO Election), Neelam Julta, Additional Director-cum-ex-officio-Addl. Secretary (Panchayati Raj), Parmeshwar Negi, Dr. Vivek Guleria (Block Development Officer), Sachin Thakur (District Panchayat Officer), Sanjay Kumar (District Audit Officer), and Anita Kumari, along with Ankit, Rajni Devi, Roop Singh, Vinod Kumar, and Suresh Kumar, for their dedicated contributions in achieving this milestone.<\/p>\n

According to officials, Gram Panchayat Shansha demonstrated exemplary implementation of various flagship schemes during 2025. These include the National Social Assistance Programme\u2014covering Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension and Old Age Pension\u2014Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). The panchayat ensured that the benefits of these schemes reached all eligible beneficiaries efficiently.<\/p>\n

Special emphasis was placed on empowering vulnerable groups such as women, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens. The panchayat played a key role in linking them with central and state government welfare initiatives, ensuring social security and dignity for all.<\/p>\n

Additionally, large-scale efforts were undertaken to facilitate the creation of Ayushman Cards and Himcare Cards, enabling better access to healthcare services. Eligible residents were also successfully covered under national social security pension schemes.<\/p>\n

Veena Devi expressed deep appreciation for the continued support of both the Central and Himachal Pradesh State Governments, stating that their policies and backing have significantly contributed to the upliftment of rural communities like Shansha.<\/p>\n

Congratulating the people of Shansha Panchayat and the entire district, she said that this achievement reflects the spirit of collective responsibility and dedication. She also extended her best wishes to all residents of Lahaul-Spiti and Himachal Pradesh, hoping that this success will inspire other panchayats to strive for excellence in sustainable and inclusive development.<\/p>\n
