The birth anniversary of late Thakur Ved Ram was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the auditorium of Bhuttico in Kullu district, the well known weaving cooperative society in the district. The occasion was marked by an international and national awards ceremony recognising outstanding contributions in cooperatives, handloom, literature, media and culture.<\/p>\n

The event was presided over by former minister Satya Prakash Thakur, while former Vice Chancellor Gulab Singh Azad attended as the chief guest.<\/p>\n

The Ved Ram International Award in the cooperative sector was presented to W U Herath from Sri Lanka for his remarkable contribution at the global level.<\/p>\n

At the national level in the cooperative sector, Subhash Chand Arya from Nagaur in Rajasthan and Karnail Rana, former chairman of Himcofed from Nurpur in Kangra district, were honoured for their excellent work.<\/p>\n

In the handloom and weaving sector, Ved Ram National Awards were conferred upon Vishwanath Summa, Jugat Ram and Raju, son of Chohu Bhulang, all from Kullu, for their significant contributions.<\/p>\n

In the field of literature, Ganesh Gani Bhardwaj from Kullu received a national award.<\/p>\n

In the media category, Sanjeev Sharma, editor of the digital edition of Hindi Dainik Savera, Jalandhar, was honoured in electronic media, while Bvindra Vashisht, local editor of Amar Ujala, Shimla, received the award in print media.<\/p>\n

Other honours included the Purohit Chandrashekhar Bebas Lok Sahitya National Award presented to Dr Hemendra Wali from Kumarsain in Shimla, the Chand Kulluvi Lal Chand Prarthi Pahari Art and Culture National Award to Savita Sehgal from Sirmaur and the Thakur Maulu Ram Pahari Language Literature National Award to Yatin Pandit from Kullu.<\/p>\n

Lifetime Achievement Awards were conferred upon Rajendra Rajan from Hamirpur and Dr Kamla Saini Rattu from Jalandhar in recognition of their long standing contributions.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Bhuttico chairman Satya Prakash Thakur congratulated all awardees and said that Bhuttico products have gained recognition both in India and abroad due to their quality. He added that the organisation continues to work towards providing better facilities to its weavers.<\/p>\n

The programme also featured a poetry session in memory of Purohit Chandrashekhar Bebas, where writers presented their works. A cultural evening was organised on April 21 in memory of Sher e Kulluvi Lal Chand Prarthi, with local artists showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.<\/p>\n

The event witnessed the presence of a large number of dignitaries, writers, artists and members of the weaving community, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
