They focus on improving living conditions, ensuring dignity, and promoting rehabilitation for vulnerable populations residing in such facilities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry, the guidelines cover several critical areas, including preventive healthcare and sanitation, infrastructure development and capacity enhancement, nutrition and food safety, vocational training, and rehabilitation. They also emphasize the importance of legal aid, awareness initiatives, and sensitivity toward children and gender-specific needs.<\/p>\n<p>A key feature of the framework is its emphasis on accountability and oversight mechanisms to ensure proper implementation and monitoring of shelter homes. Additionally, the guidelines encourage convergence with existing Central and State government schemes to streamline services and improve outcomes for residents.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry has urged all States and Union Territories to adopt and implement these guidelines in both letter and spirit.
