The 86th Annual General Meeting of Bhuttico Weavers Handloom and Handicraft Cooperative Society Ltd. was held under the chairmanship of its President and former Horticulture Minister Satya Prakash Thakur, marking a significant milestone for one of the region\u2019s leading handloom cooperatives.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, Acting Chief General Manager Surti Devi presented a detailed report on the society\u2019s achievements for the financial year 2024\u201325 and outlined its annual plan for 2025\u201326. She highlighted the cooperative\u2019s steady growth and operational progress over the past year.<\/p>\n

In his address, President Satya Prakash Thakur informed members that the society recorded total sales of Rs. 13.49 crore during the year, reflecting an increase of Rs. 26 lakh compared to the previous financial year. He credited the success to the collective efforts of employees and weaver members, congratulating them for their contribution.<\/p>\n

As part of its employee welfare initiatives, the society promoted 15 staff members and announced a 10 percent increase in dearness allowance. Additionally, a 10 percent rise in weaving rates for artisan members was approved, aimed at improving their earnings and sustaining traditional craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

Outlining future plans, the President announced the opening of a new showroom in Ani to expand the cooperative\u2019s retail presence. He also emphasized participation in national and international exhibitions to boost sales and enhance market reach. At the same time, the society is planning to shut down loss-making showrooms to streamline operations.<\/p>\n

To cater to evolving customer demand, the cooperative will focus on producing affordable products using locally sourced wool and wool blends. The initiative is expected to strengthen local supply chains while making products more accessible to a wider consumer base.<\/p>\n

The society also plans to organize regular training programs for its directors, officers, and employees, focusing on cooperative principles, discipline, and administrative efficiency. For this purpose, services of experts such as T. R. Kapoor, Sher Singh, and Shiv Chand are proposed to be engaged through the Regional Institute of Cooperative Management Chandigarh, with expenses to be covered under the Cooperative Education Fund.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including former Zila Parishad member Prem Lata Thakur, Vice President Rohit Thakur, Mohar Singh, and board members Madan Lal, Atma, Indra Devi, Jogdhyan, Prem Singh, and Sohan Singh. Also present were Chief Advisor Ramesh Thakur, Acting Chief General Manager Surti Devi, senior officials, staff, and weaver members.<\/p>\n

Out of a total of 338 members, 166 were present at the meeting, reflecting active participation and engagement within the cooperative.
