The measures, unveiled by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and supported by the Department of State, mark the latest step in the Trump Administration\u2019s renewed \u201cmaximum pressure\u201d campaign against Tehran. U.S. officials said the sanctioned entities played a critical role in helping the Iranian government bypass international financial restrictions and maintain access to global markets despite extensive sanctions.<\/p>\n

The U.S. government alleges that Iran\u2019s largest digital asset exchanges have become key instruments in the regime\u2019s efforts to sustain its economy amid mounting financial pressures. Officials claim these platforms have allowed regime insiders and sanctioned entities to transfer wealth internationally, shield assets from enforcement actions, and maintain access to foreign currency reserves.<\/p>\n

Authorities further contend that the exchanges have been used to support activities linked to the IRGC, which the United States designates as a terrorist organization. The IRGC has long been accused by Washington of financing and supporting militant groups across the Middle East.<\/p>\n
