Today marks an exceptionally proud, inspiring, and historic occasion for Vallabh Government College, Mandi, as a total of 29 NCC cadets from the Air Wing and Army Wing have achieved a remarkable milestone by being selected simultaneously as \u2018Agniveers\u2019 in the Indian Army, thereby creating a new record of excellence. This extraordinary achievement has not only elevated the prestige of the institution but has also brought immense pride to the entire Mandi district and the state of Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Flight Commander and NCC Officer of NCC Air Wing Mandi, Flying Officer Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, stated that the disciplined, talented, and hardworking cadets of the NCC Air Wing and Army Wing have set an exemplary benchmark through their unwavering dedication, rigorous training, perseverance, and commitment to national service. He emphasized that the success of these cadets is a matter of immense pride and inspiration not only for the college but also for the entire region of Mandi and Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman further informed that 11 cadets from the NCC Air Wing, Mandi, have been selected as Agniveers in the Indian Army, which stands as a testimony to the unit\u2019s exceptional training standards, discipline, and spirit of patriotism.<\/p>\n

The selected cadets from the NCC Air Wing, Mandi include Leading Flying Cadet Sunil, Cadet Ashish, Cadet Nageshwar, Cadet Abhishek, and Cadet Devansh. From the third-year training batch, Cadet Nagendra and Cadet Deepak have been selected, while Cadet Himanshu and Cadet Nitish from the second year, and Cadet Yugender and Cadet Virender from the first year have also secured selection in the Indian Army.<\/p>\n

A particularly noteworthy achievement is that Cadet Nagendra of the NCC Air Wing represented the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate at the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC), New Delhi \u2013 2026, bringing further distinction to the college. Moreover, under the able leadership of Commanding Officer Kunal Sharma, the Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC Kullu has been playing a significant role in the training and personality development of cadets.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Company Commander of NCC Army Wing, Lieutenant Dr. Balbir Singh, informed that a total of 18 cadets from the Army Wing have achieved remarkable success by securing selection in the Indian Army (Agniveer\u20132026). The selected cadets include Anshul Kumar, Rohan, Anshul, Jiten, Tupender, Vijay Kumar, Prashant, Sahil, Sujal, Praveen, Hemraj, Rahul, Ved Prakash, Prakul, Arman, Parthik Deepak, Sonu, and Manish Rana.<\/p>\n

To commemorate this historic achievement, the college administration and NCC units have jointly released a special congratulatory poster, honouring all selected cadets from both wings.<\/p>\n

Expressing happiness over this remarkable success, Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar stated that this achievement is a moment of immense pride and honour for the entire college fraternity. He remarked that the cadets have embodied the NCC motto, \u201cUnity and Discipline,\u201d and achieved this distinguished success through dedication and determination. He further stated that this accomplishment will inspire other students to pursue careers in national service and the armed forces.<\/p>\n

The Principal further highlighted that under the visionary leadership and effective mentorship of Flying Officer Dr. Chamanlal Kranti Singh, more than 14 NCC cadets of the college have received Presidential Commissions as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force and Lieutenants in the Indian Army.<\/p>\n

He also informed that in 2024, five cadets and students of the college \u2014 NCC Air Wing cadets Pankaj Thakur and Vinay Thakur, college student Sangharsh Thakur, and Army Wing cadet Pulkit Kapoor \u2014 received training for the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai. Similarly, NCC Air Wing cadets Angad Singh, Virender Chandel, and Ajay Kumar underwent training at the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, and were commissioned as Flying Officers, thereby bringing laurels to the institution.<\/p>\n

The Principal further added that under the proficient guidance of Flying Officer Dr. Chamanlal Kranti Singh, six cadets of the college represented India internationally under the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) in Bangladesh, Russia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and India-Bhutan camps, enhancing the institution\u2019s reputation at the global level. Additionally, from 2018 to 2026, numerous cadets of the college represented the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate at the Republic Day Parade, New Delhi, earning national recognition for the institution.<\/p>\n

This unprecedented success of cadets from both NCC wings once again proves that Vallabh Government College, Mandi, is not only excelling in academics but is also playing a pioneering role in nation-building by nurturing disciplined, competent, and service-oriented youth committed to military leadership and national service.<\/p>\n
