The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held an important organizational meeting of the Spiti Mandal in Kaza, bringing together party leaders, office-bearers, and workers to discuss organizational strengthening, public outreach initiatives, and key developmental issues affecting the region.<\/p>\n

The meeting was addressed by Suresh Sharma, Full-Time Expansion Worker and Organizational General Secretary for the Mandi Parliamentary Constituency, and former MLA and BJP State Executive Committee Member Ravi Thakur. Both leaders emphasized the need to strengthen the party’s organizational structure at the grassroots level and effectively communicate the achievements of the Central Government to the people.<\/p>\n

Among those present at the meeting were District General Secretary Sanjay Katoch, senior BJP worker Harish Nalwa, Mandal President Demdul Gatuk, State Vice President of the ST Morcha Rajender Bodh, District General Secretary Rakesh Kumar, District President of Kisan Morcha Tashi Gyaltsen, Zila Parishad Member Thille Dechen, Mandal Vice President Lamo Butit, Mandal General Secretary Kalzang Namgyal, along with office-bearers of the Mandal, heads of various party wings, and a large number of BJP workers.<\/p>\n

Ravi Thakur Highlights Development Initiatives<\/h4>\n

Addressing the gathering, Ravi Thakur stressed the importance of ensuring that accurate information regarding development projects and welfare schemes implemented by the Central Government reaches every household in Lahaul-Spiti.<\/p>\n

He stated that several major infrastructure projects in the region, including roads being constructed under the Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme (PMGSY), sewerage projects, and other essential development works, are being carried out with substantial financial assistance from the Central Government.<\/p>\n

Thakur alleged that despite the significant contribution of the Centre, the state government is attempting to claim credit for these projects, thereby misleading the public about the source of funding and implementation support.<\/p>\n

Concerns Raised Over Essential Supplies in Spiti<\/h4>\n

The former MLA also expressed concern over recurring shortages and supply issues related to essential commodities such as cooking gas, petrol, and diesel in the Spiti region.<\/p>\n

He said that difficulties in ensuring the availability of basic necessities raise serious questions about the functioning of the state government and local administration. According to him, residents of Spiti should not be forced to struggle for essential services when such issues are largely absent in many other parts of the country.<\/p>\n

Thakur urged the state government to address these concerns on a priority basis and ensure uninterrupted access to basic facilities for the people of the remote tribal region.<\/p>\n

Call for Organizational Strengthening<\/h4>\n

Speaking on the occasion, SlSuresh Sharma emphasized the importance of further strengthening the BJP’s organizational network down to the booth level. He called upon party workers to actively engage with the public and ensure that the achievements and welfare initiatives of the Central Government reach every household.<\/p>\n

Sharma also encouraged workers to play an active role in upcoming organizational programs and public outreach campaigns, stressing that a strong grassroots structure is essential for effectively serving the people and addressing local concerns.<\/p>\n

Discussion on Future Programs and Public Outreach<\/h4>\n

The meeting witnessed detailed discussions on organizational expansion, future party activities, and strategies for enhancing public engagement across the Spiti region. Leaders and workers exchanged views on strengthening communication with local communities and increasing awareness about government initiatives and developmental projects.<\/p>\n

Concluding the meeting, Ravi Thakur reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to public welfare, development, and national interest. He stated that the party would continue working among the people and strongly advocate for the rights, aspirations, and overall development of Lahaul-Spiti.<\/p>\n

“The Bharatiya Janata Party will continue to raise issues concerning public welfare and development while working tirelessly for the comprehensive progress of Lahaul-Spiti. We remain committed to ensuring that the voices and concerns of the people of this region are heard and addressed effectively,” he said.<\/p>\n
