Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have destroyed what they described as a major underground Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon as part of Operation Closing Verse.<\/p>\n

According to a joint statement issued by the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister, the operation targeted an underground tunnel complex in the area of Majdal Zoun, a village in southern Lebanon. Israeli officials said the tunnel measured more than 200 meters in length and extended to a depth of over 25 meters below ground.<\/p>\n

The Israeli government stated that the underground facility contained hundreds of weapons and several launch silos allegedly intended for attacks against Israeli territory and its civilian population.<\/p>\n

Officials said Israel informed the United States and the American representative in Lebanon in advance of the operation, describing it as part of ongoing coordination with its international partners.<\/p>\n
