He sought clarity on why direct public operation through the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) is not being considered despite the government now having full control of the property.<\/p>\n<p>He further urged the Chief Minister to explain the state\u2019s fiscal position, noting what he described as contrasting statements regarding financial stability and constraints. According to Jamwal, if the state is financially stable, the need to lease government assets should be clarified, while if there are fiscal pressures, the basis of earlier claims of stability should be explained.<\/p>\n<p>The MLA also questioned the performance of HPTDC, pointing to ongoing discussions about the financial results of its hotels. He said there is a need for clarity on whether tourism properties are operating profitably or under losses, and what factors are influencing management decisions regarding their operation or leasing.<\/p>\n<p>Jamwal emphasized that tourism in Himachal Pradesh is witnessing strong visitor inflows and increasing activity, and therefore sought accountability regarding the operational model of government-run hospitality units.<\/p>\n<p>He also raised concerns about consistency in policy, noting that while existing properties are being considered for leasing, there are parallel announcements regarding development of new tourism infrastructure. He sought justification for this approach and its long-term financial impact.<\/p>\n<p>Jamwal called for transparency in the leasing process, including the terms, duration, and expected benefits to the state.
