Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday said that the Himachal Pradesh Government is in the final stages of formulating a new industrial policy aimed at promoting investment, generating employment opportunities and further improving the ease of doing business in the state.<\/p>\n

Chairing a review meeting of the Industries Department, the Chief Minister said the policy would be notified shortly after consultations with all stakeholders to ensure that it is comprehensive, industry-friendly and aligned with the state’s development priorities.<\/p>\n

He said the new industrial policy would play a pivotal role in attracting investments to Himachal Pradesh while creating sustainable employment opportunities for the youth. Emphasising the government’s commitment to improving the business environment, he said the single-window clearance system was being strengthened to facilitate faster approvals and encourage industrial investment.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said the state government was simplifying rules and procedures under its ease of doing business initiative to enable entrepreneurs and industrialists to establish and operate their enterprises with greater convenience. He added that during the last three and a half years, the government had introduced several policy initiatives and legal reforms to make the investment climate more transparent and investor-friendly.<\/p>\n

Reviewing the progress of the ambitious Bulk Drug Park at Una, the Chief Minister directed officers to expedite all ongoing works and ensure timely completion of the project. He stressed the need to invite reputed pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies from across the country to invest in the park, describing it as a major catalyst for industrial growth in the state.<\/p>\n

He said the Rs. 2,071-crore Bulk Drug Park project would generate significant employment opportunities for local youth and strengthen Himachal Pradesh’s position as an emerging pharmaceutical manufacturing hub. The Chief Minister was informed that around 800 bighas of land had already been levelled and site development work was progressing on a war footing.<\/p>\n

He also instructed officials to complete the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) and steam generation facility by July 15 to maintain the project’s implementation schedule.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the Unity Mall project at Dharamshala and directed officers to accelerate construction activities. He said the first installment of Rs. 66 crore had already been released for the project, while site development work was currently underway.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the Industries Department to identify products under the One District Three Products programme. He said the initiative would help strengthen the rural economy by creating new livelihood opportunities, promoting local products and improving the economic well-being of people across the state.<\/p>\n

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to balanced industrial and rural development, the Chief Minister said initiatives such as the new industrial policy, the Bulk Drug Park and the One District Three Products programme would contribute significantly to Himachal Pradesh’s long-term economic growth.<\/p>\n
