NHRC Seeks Report from Rajasthan Government Over Alleged Frisking and Assault of Girl Students in Sawai Madhopur School.<\/h1>\n

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India has taken suo motu cognizance of a reported incident involving alleged frisking, forced removal of clothes and physical assault of girl students by teachers at a government school in Liwali village of Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan.<\/p>\n

The Commission has issued a notice to the Rajasthan Chief Secretary seeking a detailed report on the matter within two weeks.<\/p>\n

According to media reports, the incident allegedly took place after one of the teachers lost Rs. 1,000 at the school. Two teachers reportedly searched girl students from classes IX and XI and allegedly forced some of them to remove their clothes during the search. The students were also allegedly beaten, although the missing money was not recovered.<\/p>\n

The NHRC stated that if the allegations reported in the media are found to be true, they would represent serious violations of the human rights of the students.<\/p>\n

The Commission expressed concern over the reported treatment of the girls and said that the matter requires immediate attention from the state authorities. It has sought information from the Rajasthan government regarding the facts of the incident, action taken against those responsible, and measures adopted to prevent such incidents in the future.<\/p>\n

According to the report published on July 17, 2026, the students informed their parents about the alleged incident after returning home. The following day, a large number of parents reportedly reached the school and protested against the incident.<\/p>\n

The NHRC\u2019s intervention comes as part of its mandate to protect and promote human rights and ensure accountability in cases involving alleged violations, particularly those affecting children and vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n
