Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called for a productive and constructive Monsoon Session of Parliament, urging Members of Parliament (MPs) to engage in meaningful discussions that contribute to India’s development journey. Addressing the media before the commencement of the Monsoon Session at the Parliament premises, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of healthy debates, cooperation and collective efforts to take the nation forward.<\/p>\n

Drawing a parallel between the rainy season and the functioning of Parliament, the Prime Minister said that just as an active monsoon benefits the country, a productive Parliament strengthens democracy and accelerates national progress.<\/p>\n

“Whether it is the monsoon or the Monsoon Session, when both are proactive, they become highly productive and contribute to the welfare of the nation. We pray that the monsoon remains proactive and the Monsoon Session remains productive,” the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n

India Witnessing Historic Achievements<\/h4>\n

Highlighting the country’s recent accomplishments, Prime Minister Modi said the past month had been marked by several milestones that have filled every Indian with pride at the national, international and even space levels.<\/p>\n

Referring to India’s growing presence in the space sector, he recalled that before last year’s Monsoon Session, an Indian citizen had reached the International Space Station. This year, he noted, the country’s private space sector achieved another historic milestone through space startup Skyroot.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister praised the young team behind the achievement, noting that their average age was only 28 years. He said the success demonstrated the limitless potential of India’s youth and reflected the country’s emergence as a major force in private space exploration.<\/p>\n

He remarked that the achievements of Indian startups have carried the national flag into space and strengthened India’s global profile. According to him, the success sends a powerful message that the aspirations and capabilities of India’s youth are as limitless as space itself.<\/p>\n

Reforms Fueling Innovation<\/h4>\n

Prime Minister Modi attributed these achievements to the government’s reform-driven policies that have created an environment encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship and risk-taking.<\/p>\n

He said that continuous reforms have empowered young innovators to pursue ambitious goals and achieve global success. According to him, the country’s rapid policy transformation has become a major driving force behind India’s expanding startup ecosystem and technological advancement.<\/p>\n

Infrastructure and Technological Progress<\/h4>\n

The Prime Minister also highlighted several major infrastructure and industrial milestones achieved recently. These include the dedication of a major oil refinery in Rajasthan, the establishment of the country’s third semiconductor manufacturing plant and the launch of what he described as the world’s longest and most powerful green hydrogen-powered train.<\/p>\n

He credited these achievements to the dedication and hard work of India’s scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and workers, saying they reflect the collective efforts of people committed to national development.<\/p>\n

India’s Economy Remains Strong Amid Global Challenges<\/h4>\n

Speaking about the global economic situation, Prime Minister Modi referred to the ongoing conflict in West Asia and its impact on international energy markets. He noted that the conflict had disrupted the supply chains of petroleum products, LPG, fertilizers and chemicals, posing significant challenges for an energy-importing country like India.<\/p>\n

Despite these global uncertainties, he said India has continued to maintain its position as the fastest-growing major economy in the world. He cited the country’s reported economic growth rate of 7.7 percent, describing it as evidence of India’s resilience, economic strength and determination in the face of international challenges.<\/p>\n

Call for Constructive Parliamentary Debate<\/h4>\n

Turning to the parliamentary agenda, the Prime Minister appealed to MPs across party lines to ensure the smooth functioning of both Houses during the Monsoon Session.<\/p>\n

He stressed that Parliament should become a platform for informed, fact-based and meaningful discussions focused on national interest rather than disruptions. He urged members to respect differing opinions while working collectively to address the aspirations of the people.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister said India’s youth are ambitious and expect Parliament to function responsibly so that the country’s development momentum continues uninterrupted.<\/p>\n

Echoing the Speaker’s welcome to MPs at the beginning of the session, he appealed for calm and constructive deliberations.<\/p>\n

“Smooth functioning of Parliament, meaningful discussions and a collective resolve to take the country forward are the need of the hour. This is also the aspiration of India’s youth, who are filled with ambition and want the nation to keep progressing.”<\/p>\n

Concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi said that strong arguments supported by facts and logic are the foundation of parliamentary democracy and leave no room for unnecessary disruptions.<\/p>\n
