Reaffirming its commitment to supporting the families of deceased government employees, the Himachal Pradesh Government has appointed 94 Group-C employees in various departments during July 2026 under the Compassionate Employment Policy through the Directorate of Recruitment. The government has also indicated that more appointments will be made soon as pending eligible cases are processed on priority.<\/p>\n

The appointments have been made in the Jal Shakti, Health, Rural Development, Home and Horticulture Departments. The state government has directed all departments to submit genuine compassionate appointment cases on priority to ensure that eligible dependents receive employment without unnecessary delay.<\/p>\n

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, stating that many deserving families had been waiting for years for their cases to be considered and that the present government had expedited the process.<\/p>\n

Among the beneficiaries is Akshay Kumar of Kuthera Khairla in Una district. His father, an Operator in the Irrigation and Public Health Department, died in 2018. Akshay applied for compassionate employment the same year, but his application remained pending until 2022. He said his case was processed after the present government assumed office. He was informed in February this year that his application had been approved, appeared for a typing test in March and received his appointment letter in July.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Shalu Chauhan of Kotkhai in Shimla district said her father, who worked as a Pump Operator in the Jal Shakti Department, passed away in 2013. She alleged that her application was not considered during the previous government’s tenure. After the current government came to power, her case was processed, and following a typing test in March, she received her appointment letter in July.<\/p>\n

Akanksha Kapur of Baijnath in Kangra district said her father, a Senior Assistant in the Hydrology Department, died in 2019. She said no action had been taken on her request during the previous regime, but the present government processed her application on priority and appointed her in July.<\/p>\n

Lokesh Chauhan of Nahan in Sirmaur district also received compassionate employment after his father, an employee of the Jal Shakti Department, passed away in 2014. He thanked the state government for providing timely support to his family.<\/p>\n

Shivani Kumari of Kuthera in Hamirpur district was appointed as a Junior Office Assistant (IT) in the Health Department following the death of her husband, who served as a Dental Mechanic in the department and passed away in 2023.<\/p>\n

In a significant policy initiative, the state government has also decided to undertake a one-time review of compassionate appointment cases that were rejected by various departments in the past. Genuine rejected cases will be re-examined, and suitable relaxations under the policy will be considered wherever required to provide relief to deserving families.<\/p>\n

The government said it remains committed to ensuring that eligible compassionate employment cases are disposed of in a fair, transparent and time-bound manner. It added that the initiative aims to provide financial security and stability to families who have lost their sole earning member while serving the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
