Himachal Pradesh’s rising martial arts talent Rishabh Chauhan has brought laurels to India by winning a bronze medal at the 10th Senior Asian Pencak Silat Championship, held in Vietnam from July 15 to 23. Competing against top athletes from across Asia, the young fighter delivered an impressive performance to finish on the podium in the Men’s Under-45 kg Tanding (Fight) category.<\/p>\n

To celebrate his achievement, the Pencak Silat Association of Himachal Pradesh organised a grand felicitation ceremony in Mandi, where Rishabh was accorded a warm welcome on his return from the international championship.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Joginder Singh Azad, President of the Pencak Silat Association of Himachal Pradesh, said the bronze medal was a proud moment for both the state and the country. He noted that Rishabh’s success at the Asian Championship reflects years of hard work, dedication and disciplined training.<\/p>\n

Azad said Rishabh has been training at the Hemang Martial Arts Academy, Mandi, for the past four years under expert coaching. His consistent performances at various levels have now earned him international recognition, making him one of Himachal Pradesh’s promising martial arts athletes.<\/p>\n

During the felicitation ceremony, the association honoured Rishabh with a traditional Himachali shawl and cap and presented him with a cash award of Rs. 11,000 as a token of appreciation for his outstanding achievement on the continental stage.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by State Pencak Silat Association President Joginder Singh Azad, State Executive Member Daivagya Awasthi, Rohan, Mandi District Pencak Silat Association Vice-President Paras Vaidya, Joint Secretary Rakesh Kumar, and members Devinder Kumar and Vijay Kumar, among others.<\/p>\n

The association’s Chairman H.D. Panchani, Vice-Presidents Surendra Sharma and Brij Lal, Joint Secretary Sher Singh, Treasurer Banita Kumari, along with other office-bearers and members, extended their congratulations to Rishabh and wished him continued success in future national and international competitions.<\/p>\n

Association officials expressed confidence that Rishabh Chauhan’s achievement would inspire more young athletes from Himachal Pradesh to pursue Pencak Silat and represent India on the global stage.
