Rajasthan Gets 2.89 Lakh Pucca Houses Under PMAY-G, Rs. 3,473 Crore Approved.<\/h1>\n

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday announced the approval of 2,89,355 pucca houses for Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), with a total project outlay of Rs. 3,473 crore.<\/p>\n

During his visit to Baran, Chouhan participated in a state-level PMAY-G programme along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. He handed over the approval letter for the houses to the Chief Minister. He also handed over an approval letter for Rs. 340.59 crore under various agricultural development initiatives and the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY).<\/p>\n

The programme was attended by Members of Parliament, MLAs, ministers, public representatives and a large number of local residents.<\/p>\n

29.13 Lakh New Beneficiaries Surveyed<\/h4>\n

Chouhan said a survey of 29,13,749 new beneficiaries under PMAY-G has been completed. Houses will be sanctioned for all remaining eligible families after physical verification.<\/p>\n

He directed the authorities to ensure transparency in the selection process by displaying beneficiary lists at district and panchayat levels. He also called for objections to be heard properly and stressed that eligible families should not be deprived of benefits because of errors or wrongful exclusion.<\/p>\n

Changes in PMAY-G Eligibility Rules<\/h4>\n

Chouhan announced three significant changes in the eligibility criteria for housing assistance.<\/p>\n

Under the revised rules, families owning a two-wheeler will also be eligible for a pucca house. The monthly income ceiling for women has also been increased, with women earning up to Rs.15,000 per month now eligible for assistance, compared with the earlier limit of Rs. 10,000.<\/p>\n

Small farmers have also been brought within the eligibility framework. Farmers owning up to five acres of unirrigated land or 2.5 acres of irrigated land will now be eligible for housing assistance.<\/p>\n

Lakhpati Didi Target Doubled to 32 Lakh<\/h4>\n

Emphasising women’s economic empowerment, Chouhan said around 16 lakh women in Rajasthan have already become Lakhpati Didis. The target has now been doubled to 32 lakh.<\/p>\n

He said women have received around Rs.13,400 crore through various banks to support entrepreneurial and livelihood activities. He stressed that no woman should remain poor and called for greater participation of women in economic activities.<\/p>\n

Rs. 12,000 Crore Target Under Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Yojana<\/h4>\n

Chouhan also highlighted the newly introduced Viksit Bharat-G RAM G Yojana, under which Rajasthan has been given a target of Rs. 12,000 crore in investment over the next nine months.<\/p>\n

He said the programme would focus on development at the gram panchayat level, with an annual target of around Rs. 80 lakh for each panchayat. Development priorities, he said, would be determined locally rather than solely by authorities in Delhi or Jaipur.<\/p>\n

According to Chouhan, villagers themselves should participate in deciding development plans and priorities for their respective panchayats.<\/p>\n

Urea to Remain Available at Rs. 266 Per Bag<\/p>\n

Addressing farmers’ concerns over fertiliser prices, Chouhan said the government was continuing to protect farmers from the impact of high international prices.<\/p>\n

He said that although the actual cost of a bag of urea is around Rs.3,000, farmers are being provided the fertiliser at Rs. 266 per bag, with the government bearing the difference.<\/p>\n

He also assured farmers that strict action would be taken against black marketing of fertilisers and other agricultural inputs.<\/p>\n

Tougher Laws Against Fake Pesticides and Substandard Seeds<\/h4>\n

Chouhan said the existing legal framework is not sufficient to deal effectively with the sale and distribution of fake pesticides and substandard seeds.<\/p>\n

He announced that the government plans to introduce stronger pesticide and seed legislation in the next session of Parliament. The proposed measures will include stricter punishment for those involved in supplying counterfeit or substandard agricultural inputs and greater protection for farmers.<\/p>\n

Agricultural Roadmap for Kota-Jhalawar Region<\/h4>\n

Chouhan said a comprehensive agricultural roadmap would be prepared for the Kota-Jhalawar region in consultation with agricultural scientists and local farmers.<\/p>\n

The roadmap will cover the complete agricultural value chain, including the introduction of new crops, processing, marketing and exports. The objective, he said, would be to increase farmers’ incomes and connect agricultural production from the farm gate to national and international markets.<\/p>\n

Call for Collective Participation in Rural Development<\/h4>\n

Chouhan urged citizens to contribute to social and national development by serving society, planting trees, educating daughters and promoting a drug-free society.<\/p>\n

He administered a pledge to those present and called for collective efforts to build a Viksit Rajasthan and Viksit Gaon.<\/p>\n

Vande Mataram Symbolises Patriotism<\/h4>\n

Speaking about the national song, Chouhan said Vande Mataram represents India’s freedom struggle, sacrifice and patriotism. He said respecting Vande Mataram is the duty of every Indian and highlighted its importance in the country’s national consciousness.<\/p>\n

The announcements made during the Rajasthan visit cover rural housing, agricultural development, women’s empowerment, fertiliser availability, agricultural input regulation and village-level development, with the government stressing greater transparency and wider inclusion in welfare schemes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
