The Congress party organised a meeting of its workers at Kataru in Janjehli area of Seraj Assembly constituency in Mandi district on Wednesday as part of its \u2018Sangathan Sarijan Abhiyan\u2019, focusing on strengthening the party organisation and increasing engagement with people at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n

The programme was held in connection with the formation of the Mandal Congress Committee in Seraj, the home constituency of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur. Party workers and local residents participated in the programme, where discussions were held on organisational strengthening, public issues and taking the Congress ideology to the grassroots.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by AICC Secretary and Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee co-in-charge Vidit Chaudhary and Mandi District Congress Committee president Champa Thakur, who interacted with party workers and local people.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, Jagdish Reddy, president of the Block Congress Committee, Seraj, said the programme was aimed at strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots and establishing greater coordination between workers and the local community.<\/p>\n

Reddy said that interaction with workers and residents was an important part of the organisational exercise and would help the party understand local concerns and issues more effectively. He said party workers would work collectively to raise matters concerning the people and ensure that public-interest issues remain at the centre of the organisation\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n

The meeting also saw discussions on strengthening the Mandal-level organisation and improving coordination among party workers. Leaders urged workers to remain connected with people at the village and booth levels and to communicate the party\u2019s policies and ideology among the public.<\/p>\n

The programme assumes political significance as Seraj is the electoral stronghold of BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur, who has represented the constituency for several terms and served as Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister. The Congress organisational exercise in the constituency comes against this backdrop, with the party seeking to strengthen its grassroots presence and mobilise its cadre.<\/p>\n

Party leaders emphasised the need for an active and united organisation capable of taking up issues affecting ordinary residents. Workers were also encouraged to maintain regular public contact and strengthen communication between the party organisation and local communities.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Sangathan Sarijan Abhiyan\u2019 is being projected by the Congress as an organisational exercise aimed at building a stronger party structure and enhancing the participation of workers in grassroots political activities.<\/p>\n
