Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated the Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Himachal Pradesh, for receiving an appreciation award from the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.<\/p>\n

The award was presented at IPHEX 2026 in New Delhi yesterday in recognition of the state\u2019s efforts towards regulatory excellence, industry facilitation and export promotion in the pharmaceutical sector.<\/p>\n

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the recognition reflects the State Government\u2019s continued commitment to strengthening regulatory systems, promoting ease of doing business and developing a quality-driven and globally competitive pharmaceutical ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n

He said the government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards any compromise with ethical standards in pharmaceutical businesses. Strong and transparent regulatory mechanisms are essential for ensuring the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines while simultaneously creating a conducive environment for responsible growth of the pharmaceutical industry, he added.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said the award marks another significant milestone in Himachal Pradesh\u2019s journey towards regulatory excellence. He added that the recognition would further strengthen the state\u2019s position as a trusted pharmaceutical hub serving both domestic and global markets.<\/p>\n

Health Minister appreciates DCA\u2019s contribution<\/h4>\n

Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil described the award as a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the Drugs Control Administration in ensuring effective regulation of medicines while facilitating the growth and development of the pharmaceutical industry in the state.<\/p>\n

He said the balance between robust regulatory oversight and industry facilitation is vital for building confidence among manufacturers, investors and consumers and for enhancing the credibility of the state\u2019s pharmaceutical sector.<\/p>\n

Health Secretary dedicates honour to DCA officials<\/h4>\n

Secretary Health Ashish Singhmar termed the recognition a significant achievement for Himachal Pradesh and appreciated the collective efforts of the officers and officials of the Drugs Control Administration.<\/p>\n

He dedicated the honour to the DCA team for its commitment, professionalism and sustained efforts towards ensuring regulatory compliance and facilitating the pharmaceutical industry.<\/p>\n
