Four Killed, One Injured After Vehicle Plunges 200 Metres Into Gorge in Ani.<\/h1>\n

Four people were killed and another was injured after a Hyundai Exter reportedly veered off the road and plunged nearly 200 metres into a gorge at Sween-Khad in Ani, Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

According to police, information about the accident was received at Police Station Ani at around 2:56 a.m. on September 22. A police team immediately reached the spot and initiated rescue and search operations.<\/p>\n

On reaching the site, the police found the Hyundai Exter badly damaged approximately 200 metres below the road. One person was found injured outside the vehicle, while two people were found dead inside the vehicle. During a search of the surrounding gorge, two more bodies were recovered, taking the total death toll to four.<\/p>\n

Injured Person Referred to Rampur Hospital<\/h4>\n

The injured person was identified as 27-year-old Suresh Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, a resident of Jabo village, Karana post office, Ani tehsil.<\/p>\n

Suresh Kumar was initially taken to Community Health Centre (CHC), Ani, where he received primary medical treatment. He was subsequently referred to Rampur Hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n

Four Victims Identified<\/h4>\n

The deceased have been identified as:<\/p>\n

– Rahul Rana (25), son of Jagdish Chand, resident of Jabo village, Karana post office, Ani tehsil, Kullu district.
\n– Bal Krishan (40), son of Dheek Ram, resident of Jabo village, Karana post office, Ani tehsil, Kullu district.
\n– Vivek alias Vicky (21), son of Hira Singh, resident of Jabo village, Karana post office, Ani tehsil, Kullu district.
\n– Gunjan, son of Ram Prakash, resident of Jabo village, Karana post office, Ani tehsil, Kullu district.<\/p>\n

The bodies of the deceased were taken to CHC Ani for post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n

Preliminary Investigation Points to Speed and Negligent Driving<\/h4>\n

According to the preliminary police investigation, Bal Krishan was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n

During the initial inspection of the accident site, police found that the vehicle may have been travelling at high speed and being driven negligently. Preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle lost control while negotiating a turn, collided with a parapet\/crash barrier and subsequently plunged off the road into the gorge.<\/p>\n

Police have stressed that the investigation is still underway and the precise circumstances leading to the accident are being examined.<\/p>\n

Case Registered Under BNS Sections<\/h4>\n

In connection with the accident, Ani Police Station has registered a case under Sections 125(A), 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).<\/p>\n

Police are conducting a detailed investigation to establish the exact cause of the crash and determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths and injury.<\/p>\n

The tragic accident has claimed the lives of four people from the same village, while the lone injured survivor is undergoing further medical treatment at Rampur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
