BJP Himachal Pradesh executive committee member and former Dharampur Assembly constituency candidate Rajat Thakur has levelled serious allegations of financial irregularities and misuse of office against Congress MLA Chandrashekhar.<\/p>\n

Addressing a press conference in Mandi on Thursday, Thakur alleged that the MLA had prioritised personal and family interests over the development of Dharampur since being elected in 2022. He also alleged irregularities in the functioning of Swakar College of Nursing\/College of Multipurpose Health Worker (MPHW) and the Pahari Rajya Lok Seva Samiti at Laka Paplog in Sarkaghat.<\/p>\n

Thakur claimed that documents presented during the press conference indicated a connection between Chandrashekhar and the institution and committee, which, according to him, have been operating since 2013. He alleged that mandatory conditions and procedural requirements for running the institution were not properly fulfilled and demanded a high-level factual inquiry into its recognition, permissions, financial transactions and compliance with applicable rules.<\/p>\n

He further questioned whether a person holding an elected public office could simultaneously serve as chairman of such an institution, saying that legal opinion was being sought on the matter.<\/p>\n

Thakur also raised questions over Chandrashekhar’s 2022 election affidavit. He alleged that details relating to the nursing institution, ANM and GNM courses, as well as associated financial interests, were not disclosed in the affidavit. He said legal consultations were underway and that a court case could be filed.<\/p>\n

According to figures cited by Thakur, the institution reported business of Rs. 54.84 lakh in 2020-21, Rs. 64.74 lakh in 2021-22 and Rs. 73.77 lakh in 2022-23. He questioned why these figures and related interests were allegedly not reflected in the election affidavit or returns.<\/p>\n

Thakur demanded a transparent and impartial investigation and appropriate legal action if any violations are established. He also urged MLA Chandrashekhar to publicly clarify his position on the allegations and documents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
