CM Announces Rs 2 Crore for New Government School Building in Rohru.

Shimla:

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today interacted with students of PM Shri Government Model Senior Secondary School, CBSE, in Rohru, responding to their questions and listening to their views and concerns on education, technology, employment and other issues.

During the interaction, a girl student requested the Chief Minister to provide a new building for the school. Responding to her request, Sukhu announced Rs 2 crore for construction of the new building. He said that if the sanctioned amount was insufficient to complete the project, the state government would provide additional funds as required.

The Chief Minister said construction of the new campus would take some time, but the government was committed to developing modern school campuses equipped with better facilities for CBSE schools across the state. The student informed him that after the school was converted to CBSE, enrolment had increased and classes were being conducted in two shifts, creating the need for additional infrastructure.

Sukhu said the state government was giving special attention to opening CBSE schools in the government sector to provide students in rural areas access to quality education and modern facilities comparable to those available in private schools.

Answering a student’s question about his biggest challenge, the Chief Minister said improving the state’s financial condition in a timely manner was a major challenge. He said the government was working towards making Himachal Pradesh self-reliant and one of the leading and prosperous states in the country.

The students also asked about his childhood memories, the impact of Artificial Intelligence on children, and employment opportunities. Sukhu encouraged students to focus on education, saying knowledge and critical thinking would help them face future challenges and choose the right career path.

He said the government was working to generate employment in the government sector while promoting self-employment so that young people could become employment creators.

Sukhu said the future of Himachal Pradesh was bright and reiterated the government’s commitment to making the state financially strong and self-reliant.

MLA Mohan Lal Brakta, Co-Convener of the Drug De-Addiction Board Sanjay Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, SP Gaurav Singh and other dignitaries were also present.
