{"id":13565,"date":"2026-10-20T09:30:53","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T09:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeaglenews.co.in\/?p=13565"},"modified":"2026-10-20T09:30:53","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T09:30:53","slug":"hp-police-ensures-safe-darshan-for-over-10-25-lakh-devotees-during-navratri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theeaglenews.co.in\/?p=13565","title":{"rendered":"HP Police Ensures Safe Darshan for Over 10.25 Lakh Devotees During Navratri."},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><h1>HP Police Ensures Safe Darshan for Over 10.25 Lakh Devotees During Navratri.<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Shimla:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated the state police for ensuring safe, peaceful and smooth darshan for 10,25,726 devotees who visited seven prominent Shakti Peeths and temples across the state during Ashwin Navratri from October 11 to 19, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Appreciating the dedication and professionalism of police personnel, the Chief Minister said ensuring the safety and convenience of lakhs of pilgrims visiting the state&#8217;s sacred shrines was an important responsibility of the government. He commended the coordinated efforts of the police, district administrations, temple trusts, Home Guards and other agencies in facilitating a peaceful and hassle-free pilgrimage.<\/p>\n<p>During the nine-day festivities, authorities recorded the arrival of 10,25,726 devotees and 1,04,520 vehicles at seven major temples across the state.<\/p>\n<p>Naina Devi Temple witnessed the highest footfall, with 3,95,226 devotees, followed by Jawalamukhi Temple with 1,80,000 visitors and Chintpurni Temple with 1,39,000 devotees. Bala Sundri Temple at Trilokpur received 1,06,600 visitors, while 70,500 devotees visited Chamunda Devi Temple, 69,400 visited Bajreshwari Devi Temple and 65,000 offered prayers at Baglamukhi Temple.<\/p>\n<p>Managing such a large influx of pilgrims, particularly at temples located in hilly terrain with narrow approach roads and limited parking facilities, required meticulous planning and continuous supervision. The police made extensive arrangements for crowd management, traffic regulation, parking, queue management and public safety to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister particularly appreciated the police personnel who worked long hours to ensure that devotees could offer prayers without unnecessary inconvenience. He also acknowledged the cooperation extended by temple authorities, volunteers, local residents and pilgrims in maintaining order during the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>Sukhu appealed to citizens and visitors to use the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) helpline 112, which operates round the clock, whenever police, fire or ambulance assistance is required.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Police Ashok Tewari expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for recognising the efforts of the police force. He said the appreciation would further motivate personnel to serve the public with greater dedication, sensitivity and professionalism.<\/p>\n<p>The DGP also commended the district police chiefs, supervisory officers and personnel deployed during Navratri.
