BJP State Working Committee member Rajat Thakur has raised questions over the ongoing tarring work on the Cholangarh\u2013Khajurti road in the Dharampur area of Mandi district, alleging possible irregularities and lapses in construction quality. He has demanded an immediate halt to the work until a proper technical investigation is conducted.<\/div>\n

Thakur alleged that the construction work might not be adhering to prescribed standards, raising concerns over the proper utilisation of funds provided by the Central Government. He emphasised that road construction must meet the required technical specifications to ensure durability and public safety.<\/div>\n

Questioning the transportation of hot-mix material from Hamirpur, Thakur claimed that the contractor was bringing heated bitumen from a hot-mix plant located nearly 50 kilometres away from Cholangarh. He alleged that the material could cool during transportation, potentially affecting the quality of the tarring work.<\/div>\n

According to Thakur, the contractor should be transporting the material from a plant located within a distance of 25 kilometres. He questioned the role of the Public Works Department (PWD) in ensuring compliance with technical requirements and maintaining construction quality.<\/div>\n

Thakur demanded that the department conduct a thorough inspection of the road construction process, including the materials being used and the technical aspects of the tarring work. He said that any deviation from prescribed standards should be identified and appropriate action taken against those responsible.<\/div>\n

He stressed that the quality of road construction should not be compromised under any circumstances. Roads built using public funds must be durable and provide safe, reliable transportation facilities to residents for years.<\/div>\n
