Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday said that the state government was committed to increasing the staff strength in health institutions across Himachal Pradesh to more than 70 per cent by March 31, 2027. He said sustained efforts were being made to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure better medical facilities, particularly in rural and remote areas.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister was speaking after virtually inaugurating the newly constructed Community Health Centre (CHC) building at Nohradhar in Renuka Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district from Shimla. Constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.92 crore, the six-bedded facility is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare services in the region.<\/p>\n

Sukhu said the CHC would benefit approximately 50,000 people belonging to 20 gram panchayats and 47 villages in the surrounding areas. The centre would provide round-the-clock healthcare services, allowing residents to access timely medical attention closer to their homes without travelling long distances.<\/p>\n

He informed that two Medical Officers and one Staff Nurse had already been posted at the institution to ensure the delivery of healthcare services. He said the government was prioritising the strengthening of medical colleges, zonal hospitals, district hospitals, Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres to improve healthcare delivery throughout the state.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that during the previous BJP government, health institutions were functioning with only around 35 per cent staff strength. In contrast, the present government had set a target of increasing manpower availability to more than 70 per cent by March 31, 2027.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the government’s initiatives to strengthen the rural economy and improve educational opportunities, Sukhu announced that Government Senior Secondary School at Sangrah would be upgraded into a CBSE-affiliated school. He said the initiative was aimed at providing quality education to students in rural areas closer to their homes.<\/p>\n

He also assured that the proposal to establish a milk chilling plant with a capacity of 5,000 litres per day in the area would be considered.<\/p>\n

MLA and Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Vinay Kumar thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating the new CHC building to the people of the region. He said the facility would provide substantial relief to residents of the 20 gram panchayats and 47 villages.<\/p>\n

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Secretary Health Ashish Singhmar, Director Health Services Dr. Gopal Berry and other senior officers were present in Shimla.<\/p>\n
