Annual General Meeting Held in Manali; Around 150 Pensioners Participate and Discuss Long-Pending Issues.<\/h2>\n

The Annual General Meeting of the HPTDC Pensioners Welfare Association was held in Manali on Friday under the chairmanship of its president, Narendra Kumar Bali, in a cordial atmosphere. Around 150 pensioners from different parts of Himachal Pradesh participated in the meeting and discussed various issues and challenges faced by retired employees of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC).<\/p>\n

The annual meeting was organised in Manali this year following a special request from retired employees belonging to the Kullu-Manali region. Last year’s meeting was held at Jawalamukhi in Kangra district.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the association presented its annual income and expenditure details, the annual accounts for 2025-26 and a report on its activities. All these reports were approved unanimously by the members. The association also shared updates on various cases pending before the courts and reviewed the progress made in addressing the grievances of retired employees.<\/p>\n

Several pension-related and financial issues were discussed in detail. Some of the problems raised by members were also resolved on the spot, providing immediate relief to the concerned pensioners.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, association president Narendra Kumar Bali expressed concern over the inadequate pension being received by retired employees under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). He said that the meagre pension amount was insufficient to meet the growing cost of living amid rising inflation, making it increasingly difficult for retired employees to manage their daily expenses.<\/p>\n

He stressed that all retired employees should be brought under the Corporate Pension Scheme to ensure financial security and a dignified life after retirement.<\/p>\n

The association reiterated five major demands during the meeting. These include one-time settlement of all pending financial liabilities, concessional accommodation and other facilities for pensioners in HPTDC hotels, restoration of family pension at a higher rate for the dependents of deceased employees, financial assistance from the state government and implementation of the Corporate Sector Pension Notification of 1999.<\/p>\n

The members emphasised that these demands require serious consideration by the state government and the corporation, as pensioners who have devoted several years of their lives to public service deserve financial security and timely settlement of their legitimate dues.<\/p>\n

The association expressed the need for continued collective efforts to pursue these issues with the concerned authorities and secure relief for retired HPTDC employees and their families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
