Bhuttico Pays Tribute to Founder Ved Ram Thakur on His 56th Death Anniversary.

Shimla:

Bhuttico paid heartfelt tributes to its founder and eminent cooperative movement leader, Late Ved Ram Thakur, on his 56th death anniversary on Saturday. The occasion also marked the death anniversary of his wife, Late Ghunki Devi, who was remembered with deep respect and reverence.

Former Horticulture Minister and Bhuttico Chairman Satya Prakash Thakur led the tributes and offered floral homage to the departed souls. A two-minute silence was also observed in their memory.

In his message, Satya Prakash Thakur said that Bhuttico had reached its present position because of the hard work, dedication, commitment and honesty of Late Ved Ram Thakur. He said the founder always encouraged the cooperative society’s weaver members and employees to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication.

Recalling the challenges faced by the organisation, Satya Prakash Thakur said Bhuttico had suffered substantial financial losses during the COVID-19 pandemic and the natural disasters of 2023-24 and 2024-25. However, the organisation managed to sustain its business operations due to the remarkable sacrifices made by its employees and weavers.

He highlighted that during this difficult period, employees voluntarily accepted salary cuts of up to 35 per cent, while weavers contributed 15 days of their wages in the interest of the society. Their collective commitment and spirit of cooperation helped Bhuttico keep its operations alive despite severe financial difficulties.

On the occasion, the chairman administered an oath to all officers, employees and weaver members, urging them to make every possible sacrifice for the welfare and progress of the society and follow the path shown by its founder, Late Ved Ram Thakur.

The programme also commemorated former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. Floral tributes were offered to her portrait in recognition of her contribution to the nation. She was remembered for her leadership during the 1971 India-Pakistan War, which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh, and for the nationalisation of banks.

The 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, was also observed. His historic contribution to the integration of princely states and the creation of a united and strong India was recalled.

Among those present were Prem Lata Thakur, former director of Kangra Cooperative Bank and former Zila Parishad member; Bhuttico Vice-Chairman Rohit Thakur; directors Madan Lal, Indra Devi, Atma Ram and Sohan Singh; former Himwool chairman Brahm Swaroop Thakur; Chief General Manager Surti Devi; Chief Adviser Ramesh Thakur; former Chief General Manager Vijay Thakur; General Manager Kishan Chand; and other officers, employees and weaver members of the society.
