The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the release of Rs. 5,858.60 crore to 14 states affected by recent floods, sourced from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). This funding aims to mitigate the hardships faced by citizens due to severe rainfall, floods, and landslides during the southwest monsoon.<\/p>\n

The distribution includes significant allocations such as Rs. 1,492 crore to Maharashtra, Rs. 1,036 crore to Andhra Pradesh, and Rs. 716 crore to Assam, among others. Additional funds have been allocated to states including Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and West Bengal, reflecting the urgent need for financial support in the wake of natural disasters.<\/p>\n

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government emphasizes its commitment to stand by states affected by natural calamities. Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) have been deployed to conduct on-the-spot assessments in states like Assam, Mizoram, and Kerala, with plans to extend assessments to Bihar and West Bengal soon.<\/p>\n

This year’s total financial assistance has exceeded Rs. 14,958 crore, distributed across 21 states, demonstrating the government\u2019s proactive approach to disaster management. Alongside monetary support, the central government has provided logistical assistance, including the deployment of NDRF teams, Army units, and Air Force support to aid in relief efforts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
