The India-U.S. CEO Forum, co-chaired by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ms. Gina Raimondo, convened today in Washington D.C. This forum serves as a vital catalyst for enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations and acts as a key advisory body to the India-U.S. Commercial Dialogue.<\/p>\n

The forum provides a platform for private sector leaders to share recommendations with the Indian and U.S. governments, reflecting the private sector\u2019s views on fostering stronger bilateral economic ties. Co-chaired by N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, and\u00a0 James Taiclet, CEO of Lockheed Martin, this meeting marked the third gathering since its reconstitution in November 2022, with participation from 16 leading CEOs.<\/p>\n

Key discussions revolved around seven working groups focusing on critical sectors, including Entrepreneurship, Healthcare, Aerospace, Digital Infrastructure, Energy, and Financial Services. The forum also reviewed progress since its last meeting in March 2023, highlighting initiatives like the innovation handshake and NIHIT (Network for Innovation and Harnessing Investments and Trade).<\/p>\n

Minister Goyal emphasized the commitment of both governments to bolster commercial ties, drive economic growth, and enhance bilateral cooperation in sectors like critical minerals supply chains. Earlier in the day, he paid tribute at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial in Washington D.C. in honor of the leader’s 155th birth anniversary.<\/p>\n
