This new scheme replaces the original Ecomark initiative from 1991 and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s vision for environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The Ecomark Scheme seeks to enhance the demand for environmentally friendly products by establishing strict environmental standards for accreditation. It emphasizes lower energy consumption, resource efficiency, and the principles of a circular economy. By ensuring accurate labeling, the scheme aims to prevent misleading information and build consumer awareness regarding environmental issues.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) will implement the Ecomark Scheme in partnership with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), marking a significant step towards promoting sustainable lifestyles in India.
