{"id":2241,"date":"2024-11-22T17:07:40","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T17:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theeaglenews.in\/ENews\/?p=2241"},"modified":"2024-11-22T17:07:40","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T17:07:40","slug":"supreme-court-stays-himachal-pradesh-hcs-ruling-on-chief-parliamentary-secretaries-disqualification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theeaglenews.co.in\/?p=2241","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Stays Himachal Pradesh HC&#8217;s Ruling on Chief Parliamentary Secretaries&#8217; Disqualification"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><h1>Supreme Court Stays Himachal Pradesh HC&#8217;s Ruling on Chief Parliamentary Secretaries&#8217; Disqualification<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>New Delhi:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Himachal Pradesh High Court&#8217;s decision that had declared the appointment of six chief parliamentary secretaries by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led state government unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>A bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar ordered that there will be no further proceedings based on the High Court&#8217;s ruling, which had quashed the appointment of the six MLAs as chief parliamentary secretaries.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Supreme Court clarified that no additional appointments could be made by the state government, as such actions would be deemed illegal.<\/p>\n<p>The court also issued a notice to BJP leader Kalpana Devi, who had filed the case in the High Court challenging the appointments, and directed her to submit a response within two weeks.
