The grand finale of the cultural program “Utsav-2024” organized by the Central Students’ Organization at Vallabh Government College, Mandi, witnessed an inspiring address by Professor Shukla Sharma, former principal of Kallu College, as the chief guest. Professor Sharma emphasized the importance of cultural events in fostering the overall development of students. She encouraged parents and teachers to help students uncover and nurture their hidden talents, while also highlighting how dance, music, drama, and traditional festivals preserve cultural heritage and connect the younger generation to their roots.<\/p>\n

In her address, Professor Surina Sharma, Principal of Vallabh Government College, acknowledged the significance of cultural programs in enhancing students’ skills. She credited the college’s former principal, Professor Ramesh Ravi, and Professor Kripal Parmar, for starting the tradition of cultural events in the college’s history. This was the first cultural program organized by the Central Students’ Organization after a hiatus of 12 years.<\/p>\n

The event also honored former principal Professor Shukla Sharma and recently retired principal Professor Punam Sharma from Government College, Kotli, with mementos presented by Professor Surina Sharma. Professor Punam Sharma delighted the audience with a beautiful poem in the Mandiyali dialect.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chaman, Media Coordinator, shared that Shreya Baga won the prestigious title of “Miss Cultural Utsav-2024” in the traditional modeling competition. Kashish was the first runner-up, followed by Jyoti as the second runner-up. Other competitions such as folk songs, bhajans, ghazals, Bollywood dances, and solo performances also saw outstanding performances, with the winners receiving accolades for their exceptional skills.<\/p>\n

In the traditional dance category, Gagandeep Kaur, Harsh Lata, and Kanu Priya claimed the top three positions. The event’s coordination was led by Professor Dr. Hemraj Rana, who thanked all committee members, student artists, and volunteers for their contributions to the success of the event.<\/p>\n

The cultural extravaganza featured a range of performances, including folk songs, classical dances, and group skits, with outstanding performances recognized through various awards. Several prominent faculty members served as judges for the event.<\/p>\n

The two-day cultural celebration brought together the college community, with faculty members, students, and distinguished guests participating in the vibrant celebrations that showcased the students’ diverse talents and creativity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
