The second day of the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party of India (CPI) began with vibrant traditional folk dances at the historic Seri Ground in Mandi district today. A team led by renowned folk artist Deshraj from Kotli area performed a grand presentation of the Tungal Nati, captivating the audience. The festivities also featured local dancers from the Saraj region, with revolutionary songs performed by Sameer Kashyap and famous flutist Hardev Hari\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

The event was named after the late renowned theater artist Lavan Thakur to honor his contributions to folk arts during his lifetime. The celebrations continued with a rally featuring traditional folk instruments, leading the CPI workers to the venue, Vipasha Sadan, where a public meeting was held.<\/p>\n

The meeting was chaired by the organizing committee, including prominent leaders such as Dinhu Kashyap (President, Centenary Committee), Shailender Kumar (National General Secretary, IPTA), Bhakpa State Secretary Bhag Singh Chaudhary, veteran leaders like Basu Dev Vas, Deewan Ram Chaudhary, former MLA BD Lakhanpal, and others. During the event, several party leaders shared their thoughts, including Desh Raj (Secretary, Centenary Committee), Makpa leader Kushal Bhardwaj, CPI State Secretary Prashant Mohan, and former district secretary Lalit Thakur.<\/p>\n

As part of the ceremony, the CPI honored its late leaders, including Kameshwar Pandit, KC Sood, Shankar Singh Chandel, DD Gulzar, Himlal Chand, Bhagtaram, Umesh Ghai, and others through their family members. Additionally, party workers above the age of 80 were also honored during the event. The two-day state-level celebration commemorated the CPI\u2019s 100 years and reflected on the political situation in India and worldwide, while paving the way for strengthening the party organization for the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
