Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several key development projects in Delhi, marking a significant step towards the city’s growth and modernization. The projects, which span housing, infrastructure, and education, are expected to accelerate Delhi\u2019s transformation into a global hub of economic and social development.<\/p>\n

Among the highlights, PM Modi inaugurated 1,675 newly constructed flats for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) at the Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, marking a major milestone in the government\u2019s efforts to provide permanent housing to the underprivileged. The project is part of the larger In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Scheme, aimed at replacing slums with modern, permanent housing for those in need.<\/p>\n

Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi emphasized that today\u2019s inauguration reflects the government\u2019s commitment to improving the lives of the common people. \u201cToday is a landmark day for Delhi, with transformative projects in housing, infrastructure, and education being launched to accelerate the city\u2019s development,\u201d the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n

The newly inaugurated flats at Ashok Vihar are symbolic of the government’s pledge to provide “Housing for All.” In addition, PM Modi announced the construction of nearly 3,000 more homes in the city as part of the effort to replace slums with concrete, durable housing. These initiatives are part of a broader vision that seeks to ensure that every citizen has access to basic amenities and improved living standards.<\/p>\n

PM Modi also spoke of his government\u2019s focus on education, highlighting the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) in creating new opportunities for children from disadvantaged families. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for new educational campuses, including the Eastern and Western campuses of Delhi University, and a new college in Najafgarh named after Veer Savarkar. These initiatives aim to provide high-quality education to students in Delhi, enabling them to pursue careers in various professional fields.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the new World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, marking a significant leap in urban redevelopment. The WTC project will provide 34 lakh square feet of premium commercial space, while the GPRA project offers over 2,500 modern residential units.<\/p>\n

In his address, PM Modi took the opportunity to criticize the state government of Delhi for its mismanagement in various sectors, including education and public health. He emphasized that while the central government is committed to delivering essential services like affordable housing, healthcare, and education, the state government\u2019s negligence has hindered progress in many areas, such as cleaning the Yamuna River and managing funds for education.<\/p>\n

PM Modi concluded his address with a forward-looking vision for 2025, highlighting the potential for Delhi to become a leading example of governance focused on nation-building and public welfare.<\/p>\n
