New Delhi:<\/p>\n

In a significant move towards enhancing urban mobility and infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple high-impact development projects in Delhi worth over Rs. 12,200 crore. The initiatives aim to improve regional connectivity, ease of travel, and healthcare facilities, marking another milestone in India\u2019s journey of modern infrastructure development.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister commenced the event by unveiling the Namo Bharat corridor, the first of its kind between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar. This 13 km stretch, part of the Rs. 4,600 crore Namo Bharat project, is expected to revolutionize travel between Delhi and Meerut, offering high-speed, safe, and reliable transportation to millions. The Prime Minister also took a ride on the Namo Bharat train, interacting with passengers and highlighting the bright future of India’s urban transport network.<\/p>\n

During his address, Prime Minister Modi celebrated the achievement of India’s metro network crossing 1,000 kilometers, positioning the country as a global leader in metro infrastructure. From just 248 kilometers in 2014, India’s metro network has rapidly expanded, with Delhi alone seeing the addition of hundreds of kilometers of metro routes. This includes the inauguration of the 2.8 km stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV and the laying of the foundation stone for the 26.5 km Rithala-Kundli corridor, strengthening connectivity between Delhi and Haryana.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s focus on building modern infrastructure, pointing to the increase in infrastructure spending from Rs. 2 lakh crore a decade ago to over Rs. 11 lakh crore today. With projects like expressways and freight corridors, Delhi\u2019s connectivity is set to improve, contributing to the nation\u2019s economic growth and providing ample employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

In the realm of healthcare, Modi emphasized India\u2019s potential to become the world’s health and wellness capital, with a special focus on traditional medicine. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the new state-of-the-art Central Ayurveda Research Institute at Rohini, underscoring the government’s push to promote Ayurveda and AYUSH systems internationally. He expressed confidence that India would soon be recognized globally for not just manufacturing under “Make in India,” but also healing under the “Heal in India” mantra.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, among other dignitaries.<\/p>\n
