In a significant event marking World Hindi Day, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare,\u00a0 Anupriya Patel, inaugurated the World Hindi Day Celebration today at the Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The event, which was attended by Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava as a special guest, highlighted the growing international recognition of the Hindi language.<\/p>\n

In her address, Patel emphasized the importance of Hindi as not just a medium of communication but as a symbol of India\u2019s unity and diversity. She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s use of Hindi at global forums for bolstering the language’s international stature, stating, \u201cThe fact that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicates with the leaders of other countries in Hindi has contributed to increasing the acceptance of Hindi at the world stage. This reinforces our sense of pride towards Hindi.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patel highlighted the increasing global attraction to Hindi, particularly in neighboring countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Mauritius. She urged the promotion of Hindi in official and global contexts, stating that it plays a vital role in connecting India\u2019s diverse cultures. She also underscored the significance of cultivating pride in one\u2019s own language while acknowledging the younger generation\u2019s growing interest in learning English and other languages.<\/p>\n

The event also marked the launch of the Ministry’s first in-house Hindi magazine, Swasthya Srijan, by the Union Minister and the Union Health Secretary. The magazine aims to promote health-related information in Hindi and further connect with the masses, especially as the language becomes increasingly integral to public health communication.<\/p>\n

During the event, Patel also felicitated the winners of various Hindi competitions held during Hindi Pakhwara 2024. These competitions, organized by the Ministry, encouraged employees to engage with and promote the use of Hindi within the organization.<\/p>\n

The day concluded with a grand Kavi Sammelan, where renowned poets such as Arun Gemini, Manveer Madhur, and Mumtaz Naseem performed, adding to the cultural significance of the celebration.<\/p>\n
