A women cultural troupe of remote Chauhar valley of Mandi district today enthralled the audience by their performance at Seri manch on the occasion of international shivratri fair in Mandi town.<\/div>\n

According to the residents of Chauhar valley\u00a0 it is for the first time this year since independence, the women cultural troupe of Chauhar valley got chance to display their talent on the stage on the occasion of international shivratri fair, in which artists across the nation and abroad reach here to give their performance.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“It is a big stage for artists to display their talent, where it is a daunting task for every artist to get a chance to perform on the stage on the occasion of international shivratri fair” they said.<\/div>\n

Dressed up in a traditional attire, the women cultural troupe of Chauhar valley spellbound the audience by their performance and displayed their traditional folk dance and culture prevalent in this hilly state.<\/div>\n

Subhash Thakur, a resident of Chauhar valley said that “Women play an important role in various social programs in their respective Panchayats organised by many Mahila Mandals in the valley which have been running for years. It is not possible to eradicate any social evils in Panchayats without the cooperation of women power.”<\/div>\n

“This Mahila Mandal has been being run for many years by 45 women members of Khalyahal Panchayat, a remote area of Chauhar Valley” he added.<\/div>\n

Mahila Mandal head Usha Devi, members Koshyalaya, Sonia, Khampi, Kanta Devi, Sarita Devi, Babita Devi and Deepika brought accolades to the valley by performing on the stage of the international fair by presenting a wonderful display of hill culture. They got huge applause from the public for this wonderful performance.<\/div>\n

Presenting their performance during the light rain, the women group of the valley performed Pahari Naati along with many Pahari songs. In Pahari Naati, they sang Aadat Badi Buri, Bottlea Piyun Khadi Khadi… Pattu Wali Ye Kamalue… Bhauva Rupiye Ho, which incited the audience to dance with their songs.<\/div>\n

Usha Devi, head of Mahila Mandal thanked the district administration for providing the platform of International Shivratri for the first time in the history.<\/div>\n
