Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects in Yamunanagar on Monday or, reinforcing his government’s commitment to rapid development in Haryana as part of the broader “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) vision. Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister emphasized the resolve to transform “Viksit Haryana for Viksit Bharat.”<\/p>\n

Modi hailed the cultural and spiritual heritage of Haryana, describing it as the land of Maa Saraswati, Mantra Devi, Panchmukhi Hanuman Ji, and Kapalmochan Sahib. He extended greetings on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar, whose vision he said continues to guide India\u2019s progress. Modi praised Ambedkar\u2019s belief in industrialization as a means of social justice and upliftment, especially for Dalits and marginalized communities.<\/p>\n

Yamunanagar: An Industrial Powerhouse<\/h5>\n

Highlighting the economic significance of Yamunanagar, Modi said the city plays a key role in India’s industrial landscape, producing nearly half of the country\u2019s plywood and being a hub for manufacturing aluminum, copper, and brass utensils. He also mentioned the city’s contribution to exporting petrochemical equipment globally.<\/p>\n

Modi announced the commencement of work on the third unit of the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant, which is expected to enhance electricity availability, benefiting industries and residents alike.<\/p>\n

Electricity as the Foundation of Development<\/h5>\n

The Prime Minister underlined the importance of uninterrupted power supply in achieving industrial growth and national development. Recalling the frequent power shortages before 2014, he credited his government with doubling India’s power generation capacity and expanding power exports to neighboring nations.<\/p>\n

He highlighted several initiatives such as the “One Nation-One Grid” policy, new coal power plants, solar energy expansion, and growth in the nuclear energy sector. Modi also announced plans to increase Haryana\u2019s current power generation capacity from 16,000 MW to 24,000 MW.<\/p>\n

PM Suryagarh Muft Bijli Yojana: Towards Energy Self-Reliance<\/h5>\n

Modi spoke about the PM Suryagarh Muft Bijli Yojana, under which individuals can install rooftop solar panels to eliminate their electricity bills and earn by selling excess power. Over 1.25 crore people nationwide, including lakhs from Haryana, have registered under the scheme. He highlighted how the solar initiative is creating job opportunities, boosting MSMEs, and building a skilled workforce.<\/p>\n

Strengthening MSMEs and Rural Industries<\/h5>\n

Emphasizing the role of small industries in economic development, Modi reiterated the government’s efforts to empower MSMEs. He cited financial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, revision of the MSME definition to support expansion, special credit cards, and increased credit guarantee coverage.<\/p>\n

Modi celebrated the 10-year milestone of the Mudra Yojana, which has disbursed \u20b933 lakh crore in collateral-free loans, with over 50% of beneficiaries from SC, ST, and OBC communities.<\/p>\n

Support for Haryana\u2019s Farmers<\/h5>\n

Acknowledging the contribution of Haryana\u2019s farmers, Modi said the state government now procures 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP). He shared that under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, farmers have received over \u20b99,000 crore in insurance claims, and \u20b96,500 crore has been disbursed through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.<\/p>\n

Modi praised Haryana\u2019s decision to abolish the colonial-era water tax, waiving \u20b9130 crore in outstanding dues, and highlighted the launch of a new Gobardhan plant in Yamunanagar. This plant will promote waste management, support biogas production, and contribute to Swachh Bharat, saving the municipal corporation approximately \u20b93 crore annually.<\/p>\n

Infrastructure Growth and Connectivity<\/h5>\n

Modi spoke of Haryana\u2019s infrastructure strides, noting his recent visit to Hisar for the inauguration of direct flights to Ayodhya Dham. He also announced a four-lane bypass for Rewari to ease congestion, cutting travel time between Delhi and Narnaul by an hour.<\/p>\n

A Model of Governance and Service<\/h5>\n

Reaffirming that politics should be a medium of service, Modi said his party honors its promises, as seen in Haryana\u2019s ongoing development. He contrasted this with opposition-led states like Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, criticizing their stalled development, rising costs, and corruption allegations.<\/p>\n

In Telangana, he accused the government of breaking promises and harming the environment, contrasting it with his party’s development-first approach.<\/p>\n

Tribute to Freedom Fighters<\/h5>\n

Modi paid tribute to the martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, marking its 106th anniversary, and recalled the contributions of Shankaran Nair, who resigned from a top British government post in protest. Modi highlighted Nair\u2019s legacy as an example of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” where people from different states united against colonial injustice.<\/p>\n

In his concluding remarks, Modi urged citizens to learn from historical figures like Shankaran Nair and emphasized the joint efforts of the Union and Haryana state governments to empower the poor, farmers, youth, and women.
