Rajesh Dharmani, Minister of Town Planning, Housing, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training, on Friday inaugurated the three-day Mandi Conference organized by India\u2019s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) at DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi. The event witnessed vibrant participation from students, educators, and dignitaries, and promises to be a platform for meaningful dialogue and youth engagement on global and national issues.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Minister Dharmani applauded the initiative and the efforts of the organizers in hosting a thought-provoking and educationally rich event. \u201cSuch programs expand the mental horizons of students and empower them to understand global affairs more deeply. They also foster values of democracy, leadership, and civic responsibility,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the role of youth in nation-building, the minister said, \u201cIndia\u2019s democratic framework depends greatly on the active and informed participation of its younger generation. Events like this are vital in connecting them with our ancient cultural heritage and instilling a sense of responsibility towards contemporary challenges like climate change, sustainable development, and human rights.\u201d<\/p>\n

The I.I.M.U.N. Mandi Conference seeks to simulate real-world diplomatic discussions and governance systems, giving students a platform to debate on pressing international and domestic issues. Through various sessions over the next two days, participants will engage in policy-making simulations and discussions designed to develop critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills.<\/p>\n

Kushal Bhatia, Assistant Director of I.I.M.U.N., formally welcomed Minister Dharmani and expressed appreciation for his support and encouragement. He emphasized the importance of such conferences in nurturing globally aware and socially responsible citizens.<\/p>\n

The inauguration was attended by Mandi Municipal Corporation Mayor Virender Bhatt, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Rupinder Kaur, Regional Officer cum DAV Mandi principal KS Guleria, senior departmental officers, school staff, and members of the organizing committee. All praised the initiative for offering a transformative learning opportunity to the students.<\/p>\n
