In celebration of World Football Day and with the support of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), a grand one-day \u2018Grassroots Football Day\u2019<\/em> was organized at The Phoenix School, Vihna, Mandi. The event was hosted by Triumph FC Mandi<\/em> in association with The Phoenix School and aimed to promote futsal and football at the grassroots level among school children.<\/p>\n

The event was inaugurated in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mandi,\u00a0 Rohit Rathour<\/em>, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The grand finale match witnessed the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mandi, Apoorv Devgan<\/em>, as the Chief Guest, who congratulated the organizers and emphasized the importance of such events in nurturing young sporting talent.<\/p>\n

Triumph FC Mandi President Sushant Sharma<\/em> informed that the event was designed to raise awareness about futsal\u2014a fast-paced variant of football\u2014and educate young players about its rules and benefits through an engaging workshop. The program also focused on encouraging teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship through structured coaching and motivation sessions.<\/p>\n

Several schools from the region participated in the tournament. The results of the matches were as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Takshila School<\/strong> defeated Phoenix School B<\/strong> by 2-1.<\/li>\n
  2. St. Mary\u2019s School Sundernagar<\/strong> won against GSS (Boys) Mandi<\/strong> by 3-0.<\/li>\n
  3. Anglo Sanskrit School Mandi<\/strong> beat Phoenix School A<\/strong> by 2-1.<\/li>\n
  4. St. Mary\u2019s School<\/strong> edged out Takshila School<\/strong> with a 1-0 victory.<\/li>\n
  5. GSS (Boys) Mandi<\/strong> triumphed over Phoenix School B<\/strong> by 2-0.<\/li>\n
  6. DAV Mandi<\/strong> defeated Anglo Sanskrit School<\/strong> with a close 3-2 win.<\/li>\n
  7. GSS (Boys) Mandi<\/strong> overpowered Takshila School<\/strong> with a dominant 6-1 performance.<\/li>\n
  8. Phoenix School A<\/strong> narrowly beat DAV Mandi<\/strong> by 1-0.<\/li>\n
  9. St. Mary\u2019s Sundernagar<\/strong> routed Phoenix School B<\/strong> by 6-0.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Final Match & Closing Ceremony:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    The final was a thrilling contest between St. Mary\u2019s Sundernagar<\/em> and Phoenix School A<\/em>. In front of an enthusiastic audience and DC Apoorv Devgan, St. Mary\u2019s<\/em> showcased exceptional skill and coordination, securing a 3-1 victory and emerging as the tournament champions.<\/p>\n

    Arnav from St. Mary\u2019s Sundernagar<\/strong> was awarded the Top Scorer<\/em> of the tournament, while Arnav from Phoenix School<\/strong> was recognized as the Emerging Player<\/em> for his outstanding performance and potential.<\/p>\n

    DC Apoorv Devgan praised the organizers and said, \u201cSuch events are crucial for spotting budding talent and encouraging youth participation in sports. We hope to see more initiatives like this in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
