In a decisive push for improved governance and accelerated development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the latest edition of the PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation)<\/strong> meeting earlier today. The high-level virtual platform brought together top officials from the Central and State governments to fast-track critical infrastructure projects and policy issues.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed three mega infrastructure projects<\/strong> spanning sectors such as Road Transport, Power, and Water Resources<\/strong>, with a combined value exceeding Rs. 62,000 crore<\/strong>. These projects are spread across multiple states and union territories and are deemed strategically vital for the country’s long-term socio-economic development.<\/p>\n

PM Modi emphasized the urgent need to address implementation delays<\/strong>, stating that project setbacks result not only in escalated costs<\/strong> but also in the deprivation of essential services<\/strong> to citizens. He underscored the importance of efficiency, accountability, and timely execution<\/strong>, instructing officials to remove bottlenecks swiftly and ensure that projects are delivered as planned.<\/p>\n

\u201cTimely completion is not just an administrative benchmark; it is a lifeline for citizens who rely on these infrastructures for everyday needs and economic opportunities,\u201d the Prime Minister asserted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Focus on Real Estate Transparency and Grievance Redressal<\/h3>\n

Another key agenda item was the status of public grievances under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA)<\/strong>. PM Modi stressed the importance of ensuring justice and fairness for homebuyers<\/strong>, directing States to mandate the registration of all eligible real estate projects<\/strong> under RERA.<\/p>\n

He further highlighted the need for faster and more transparent grievance redressal mechanisms<\/strong>, suggesting that consistent delays undermine public confidence and delay legal recourse for aggrieved homebuyers.<\/p>\n

\u201cCompliance with RERA is not optional. It is essential for rebuilding trust in India\u2019s housing sector,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Spotlight on Semiconductor Ecosystem<\/h3>\n

Recognizing the strategic importance of technological self-reliance, the Prime Minister also reviewed best practices related to India\u2019s growing semiconductor ecosystem<\/strong>. Lauding efforts under the National Semiconductor Mission<\/strong>, he encouraged broader replication of these practices across other States and UTs to drive innovation and investment in the electronics sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia\u2019s semiconductor ecosystem has the potential to be a global game-changer. We must build on the momentum by fostering best-in-class infrastructure and talent,\u201d PM Modi noted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

PRAGATI\u2019s Track Record<\/h3>\n

With this meeting, PRAGATI has so far facilitated the review of 373 projects worth around Rs. 20.64 lakh crore<\/strong>. The platform continues to serve as a vital mechanism for breaking inter-departmental silos and fast-tracking policy and project execution.<\/p>\n
