In a significant stride towards environmental sustainability, Abhilashi University organized an Awareness Programme and Panel Discussion under the theme \u201cHealthy Habits for a Sustainable Lifestyle\u201d<\/em>, as part of the Government of India\u2019s flagship initiative, Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)<\/strong>. The event was held in collaboration with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)<\/strong> and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Harinder Kumar Chaudhary<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor of Abhilashi University, who served as the Chief Guest. Pallavi<\/strong>, Senior Programme Officer from TERI, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Devender Sharma<\/strong>, Dean of Students Welfare, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from university officials, faculty members, and students.<\/p>\n

In his inaugural address, Prof. Chaudhary called for immediate lifestyle transformations to combat the climate crisis. He emphasized the significance of embracing the \u201cVocal for Local<\/strong>\u201d movement, reviving traditional food systems, promoting Ayurvedic practices, and preserving local biodiversity. \u201cWe have failed to return to our children the healthy environment we inherited from our ancestors. We must act now, or be prepared to answer to the generations to come,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Pallavi led an engaging and informative session focused on the core principles of Mission LiFE, urging attendees to adopt simple, actionable steps such as:<\/p>\n

  • Opting for local and organic food<\/li>\n
  • Using natural and herbal products<\/li>\n
  • Growing medicinal plants<\/li>\n
  • Adopting low-impact, healthier lifestyles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    She also interacted directly with students and faculty to offer personalized guidance on transitioning to sustainable habits.<\/p>\n

    Dr. Devender Sharma highlighted the pivotal role of youth and academia in driving environmental stewardship and fostering long-term ecological resilience.<\/p>\n

    The event concluded with a strong reaffirmation of the university\u2019s commitment to environmental education and sustainable development. Prof. Chaudhary expressed optimism about future institutional collaborations with TERI and MoEFCC, particularly in the fields of germplasm conservation and community-based sustainability in the Himalayan region.<\/p>\n

    On this occasion, Chancellor Dr. R.K. Abhilashi<\/strong>, Pro-Chancellor Dr. L.K. Abhilashi<\/strong>, Registrar Dr. Kapil Kapoor<\/strong>, Chairperson of Genius Education Society Dr. Narvada Abhilashi<\/strong>, Vice Chairperson Dr. Promila Abhilashi<\/strong>, and Secretary Narender Kumar<\/strong> extended their congratulations and support for the initiative.<\/p>\n
