In the wake of the devastating cloudburst and subsequent natural disaster in Himachal Pradesh\u2019s Seraj Assembly constituency in Mandi district, the district administration, along with the army, police, NDRF, SDRF, and other rescue agencies, is engaged in intensive relief and rescue operations. Simultaneously, the health department is working tirelessly to ensure essential medical care reaches the affected population, especially in remote and inaccessible villages.<\/p>\n

24 Medical Teams Deployed in Affected Areas<\/strong>
\nThe district health department has mobilized 24 mobile medical teams to extend primary healthcare services to the disaster-hit regions. These include 10 teams deployed in Janjehli, another 10 in Thunag, and 4 teams covering villages in the Bagsyad area. With roads and communication lines severely damaged, these teams are reaching out on foot to the most remote corners of the region.<\/p>\n

Setting Up Base Camps in Remote Villages<\/strong>
\nDue to the disruption of road connectivity caused by landslides and floods following the cloudburst, medical teams have set up temporary base camps in difficult terrain. Doctors and paramedical staff are conducting continuous health check-ups and distributing essential medicines to residents who are cut off from the rest of the district.<\/p>\n

Safe Transfer of Pregnant Women and Critical Patients<\/strong>
\nAs part of emergency medical response efforts, nine pregnant women have been safely evacuated from the affected areas and shifted to Regional Hospital Mandi and Nerchowk Medical College for further care. In a more critical case, one pregnant woman was transported from Janjehli via Karsog to IGMC Shimla.<\/p>\n
