Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu<\/strong> on Thursday visited the severely affected villages of Baga, Syanj, and Panglyur<\/strong> in the Nachan Assembly Constituency<\/strong> of Mandi district<\/strong> to take stock of the devastation caused by recent flash floods and landslides<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During his ground visit, the Chief Minister met grieving families, offered prayers for the deceased<\/strong>, and assured that the state government would extend every possible support<\/strong> to help them recover from the tragedy.<\/p>\n

Tragedy in Panglyur: Nine Swept Away<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Chief Minister was briefed that nine individuals were swept away<\/strong> in Panglyur<\/strong> due to flash floods. While four bodies have been recovered<\/strong>, search and rescue operations<\/strong> continue to locate the remaining five.
\nIn Baga village<\/strong>, two deaths<\/strong> were reported and large portions of the hillside collapsed<\/strong>, severely damaging homes, cattle sheds, and killing livestock.<\/p>\n

CM Sukhu stopped at several points along the route to personally interact with villagers<\/strong>, listen to their concerns, and assess the extent of the damage. Visibly moved<\/strong> by the scenes of destruction, he emphasized the government’s commitment to stand \u201cshoulder to shoulder with every affected family.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Relief, Compensation, and Shelter Assured<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Chief Minister announced that full compensation<\/strong> would be provided to families for the loss of homes, cattle sheds, and livestock<\/strong>, including cows, sheep, and goats<\/strong>.
\nHe instructed the district administration<\/strong> to make adequate arrangements for temporary shelter and long-term rehabilitation<\/strong> of displaced families.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe scale of this disaster is immense, but the government is determined to restore normalcy and ensure that no family is left behind,\u201d he said.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Senior Leaders Join CM in Visit<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Chief Minister was accompanied by senior Congress leaders including Vijay Pal Singh, Jagdish Reddy<\/strong>,\u00a0APMC Chairman Sanjeev Gularia<\/strong>, Jeevan Thakur<\/strong>, Naresh Chauhan<\/strong>, Laj Singh Kaushal<\/strong>, and Pawan Thakur<\/strong>.
\nAlso present were Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan<\/strong>, Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma<\/strong>, and other district officials.<\/p>\n

Community Appeals for Swift Action<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Local residents in Baga shared their fear of further landslides and appealed for immediate stabilization measures<\/strong> on vulnerable slopes.
