Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief spokesperson in Himachal Pradesh, Rakesh Jamwal, launched a scathing attack on the state\u2019s Revenue Minister Jagat Negi on Monday, accusing him of neglecting his primary duties during one of the worst natural calamities to hit the state in recent years.<\/p>\n

Jamwal alleged that while regions like Seraj, Karsog, and Nachan are grappling with the aftermath of severe natural disasters\u2014with villages wiped out and thousands affected\u2014the Revenue Minister is more focused on making provocative political statements rather than leading relief and rehabilitation efforts.<\/p>\n

He criticized Negi for failing to present any concrete rehabilitation policy or action plan, despite holding a crucial portfolio during a time of crisis. “Instead of being on the ground, helping victims rebuild their lives, the minister is busy hurling accusations at the central government and maligning the Indian Army,” Jamwal said.<\/p>\n

He further condemned Negi’s recent remarks on the Army\u2019s “Operation Sindoor”, labeling them as irresponsible and aligned with Pakistan’s narrative. “This isn\u2019t the language of a responsible Indian minister but someone echoing the rhetoric of an enemy nation,” Jamwal remarked.<\/p>\n

The BJP leader also raised serious concerns over Negi’s silence and absence following the mysterious death of Vimal Negi, an officer from his own region. \u201cEven the deceased officer’s wife has raised questions about the government’s role, yet the minister hasn\u2019t shown the basic courtesy of offering condolences,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Taking strong objection to Negi\u2019s derogatory remarks against Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, Jamwal noted that instead of appreciating the opposition\u2019s support during the crisis, the minister incited a protest and had Thakur\u2019s effigy burnt in Kinnaur\u2014attempting to communalize and politicize a humanitarian issue.<\/p>\n

“If the minister had even a shred of responsibility, he would be in the disaster-affected zones right now\u2014ensuring shelter for the homeless, helping children return to school, and restoring livelihoods,” Jamwal asserted.<\/p>\n

He concluded by urging Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to either rein in Jagat Negi or remove him from the cabinet. \u201cThe people of Himachal are watching.
