In a landmark legal victory for the Himachal Pradesh government, the Supreme Court of India has ruled in favour of the state in the ongoing royalty dispute with JSW Energy Ltd. over the 1,045 MW Karcham-Wangtu hydroelectric project. The apex court has ordered that the company must pay 18 percent royalty<\/strong> to the state\u2014up from the earlier 12 percent\u2014ushering in a substantial boost in state revenue.<\/p>\n
