A mega eye care camp will be organized in the tribal region of Lahaul from August 5 to 7, providing free eye surgeries and treatment to local residents. The camp is being jointly organized by the Live to Love<\/em> NGO and the Youth Development Association (YDA) Garsha. This will mark the 13th such initiative by Live to Love<\/em> in Himalayan regions, aimed at delivering quality medical care to remote and underserved communities.<\/p>\n

Specialist doctors from the renowned Tilganga Eye Hospital of Nepal<\/strong> will conduct diagnoses, treatments, and surgeries during the camp, ensuring high-quality ophthalmic care for the residents of Lahaul.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the initiative, Sushil<\/strong>, President of YDA Garsha, said that the organization has already begun a promotional campaign throughout Lahaul to raise awareness about the upcoming camp. Posters and banners have been installed across villages to inform people about the services being offered. He confirmed that all eye surgeries will be performed free of cost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To ensure maximum participation and early diagnosis, YDA Garsha will also conduct screening and awareness camps<\/strong> from July 22 to July 31<\/strong> across various panchayats in Lahaul. The camps will help identify patients in need of surgical intervention or further treatment.<\/p>\n

Kunga Bodh<\/strong>, the press secretary of YDA Garsha, shared the detailed schedule of the screening camps:<\/p>\n

  • July 25:<\/strong> Trilokinath, Thirot, Gaushal, Tandi<\/li>\n
  • July 26:<\/strong> Chimret, Tingret, Kardang, Lapchang<\/li>\n
  • July 27:<\/strong> Chokhang, Jhalma, Kwarang, Gemur<\/li>\n
  • July 28:<\/strong> Rape, Shansha, Jispa, Darcha<\/li>\n
  • July 29:<\/strong> Tholang, Malang, Keylong<\/li>\n
  • July 30:<\/strong> Udaipur, Shansha<\/li>\n
  • July 31:<\/strong> Regional Hospital, Keylong<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Once the screenings are completed, the eye surgeries will be performed at the Regional Hospital in Keylong from August 5 to 7<\/strong>. In addition to surgeries, medications and prescription glasses will also be provided free of cost<\/strong> to the patients.<\/p>\n

    Kunga further added that YDA Garsha is working diligently to ensure the success of this humanitarian initiative. With hundreds of patients expected to benefit, the camp is being seen as a significant step toward improving eye health in the isolated and high-altitude region of Lahaul.<\/p>\n
