Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the nation from the Parliament premises on the opening day of the Monsoon Session 2025, calling it a “moment of great pride for the nation” and a “celebration of India’s many victories” across defence, economy, space, and digital innovation.<\/p>\n

In a stirring address, the Prime Minister underlined the symbolic importance of the monsoon, noting its life-giving role in agriculture and the economy. He shared that India\u2019s water reservoir levels have tripled compared to the past decade, bringing optimism for farmers and households alike.<\/p>\n

A Session of National Triumphs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Describing the session as a proud chapter in India\u2019s journey, Shri Modi pointed to several historic milestones, including the unfurling of the Indian tricolour at the International Space Station \u2014 a first that he said had ignited a nationwide wave of enthusiasm for science and innovation.<\/p>\n

“This is not just a session of Parliament, it’s a celebration of India’s achievements. From the depths of space to the highest peaks of national defence, India is writing a new chapter of pride and purpose,” he said.<\/p>\n

Operation Sindoor: A Message to the World<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Prime Minister emphasized the success of Operation Sindoor<\/strong>, a recent counter-terror operation that eliminated high-value terror masterminds with “100% success” in just 22 minutes. He noted that the mission had not only showcased the tactical brilliance of Indian forces but also reaffirmed India\u2019s growing defence capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Parliament stands united in saluting the valour of our soldiers,\u201d said PM Modi, adding that international admiration for India\u2019s indigenous defence sector is rising. \u201cOur \u2018Made in India\u2019 military equipment is gaining global interest,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Terrorism, Naxalism, and the Triumph of the Constitution<\/strong><\/p>\n

Addressing internal security, the Prime Minister acknowledged India’s long struggle against terrorism and Naxalism. He proudly noted that Naxal-affected \u2018Red Corridor\u2019 regions are now transforming into \u2018Green Zones\u2019 of growth<\/strong>, and that India\u2019s Constitution, not weapons, is prevailing.<\/p>\n

\u201cViolence is retreating. Our democracy is advancing. That is the new India,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Digital India, Fintech Leadership, and Economic Milestones<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turning to India\u2019s digital success, PM Modi stated that India is now leading the world in real-time digital transactions, with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) gaining recognition in countries far and wide. “UPI is now a globally respected brand in fintech,” he noted.<\/p>\n

He highlighted India’s transformation from being one of the ‘Fragile Five’ economies in 2014 to now becoming the world\u2019s fifth-largest economy<\/strong>, poised to soon take the third spot<\/strong> globally.<\/p>\n

“25 crore Indians have risen out of poverty. Inflation has dropped from double digits to around 2%. These are achievements of a stable and growing India,” he declared.<\/p>\n

International Recognition and Global Diplomacy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Prime Minister also pointed to recognition from global institutions, citing the ILO\u2019s report<\/strong> that 90 crore Indians are now covered under social security and WHO\u2019s declaration<\/strong> of India as trachoma-free<\/strong> \u2014 a significant public health milestone.<\/p>\n

On the diplomatic front, he addressed the world-shocking Pahalgam massacre<\/strong>, stating that India’s political class stood united in exposing Pakistan\u2019s role in terrorism<\/strong>. “Rising above party lines, MPs became India’s voice to the world,” PM Modi said, praising the unity shown across political divides.<\/p>\n

A Call for Unity and Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister called on all Members of Parliament to maintain a spirit of unity and shared purpose<\/strong> in matters of national interest, even while holding diverse political opinions.<\/p>\n

“This session is a tribute to our soldiers, our scientists, our citizens \u2014 to every Indian who dreams of a better tomorrow. Let Parliament become the voice of 140 crore Indians \u2014 firm, fearless, and united,” he said.<\/p>\n
