Prime Minister Narendra Modi today marked the sixth anniversary of the Jal Jeevan Mission<\/em>, hailing it as a transformative initiative that has successfully provided clean and safe drinking water to over 15 crore rural households<\/strong> across India through individual tap connections.<\/p>\n

Launched on 15 August 2019<\/strong>, the Jal Jeevan Mission has emerged as a flagship programme under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, aimed at ensuring \u201cHar Ghar Jal\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 safe and adequate drinking water for every rural household. Over the past six years, the mission has dramatically reshaped water access in villages, directly impacting health, sanitation, and quality of life, particularly for women and children.<\/p>\n
