Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong> today received\u00a0Wang Yi<\/strong>, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China<\/strong> and the country’s Foreign Minister<\/strong>, during the latter’s official visit to India. The meeting marked a renewed push towards strengthening India-China relations amid continuing regional and global geopolitical shifts.<\/p>\n

During the meeting,\u00a0Wang Yi handed over a personal message and formal invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping<\/strong> for Prime Minister Modi to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit<\/strong>, scheduled to be held in Tianjin<\/strong>. Prime Minister Modi graciously accepted the invitation and conveyed his support for China\u2019s presidency of the SCO.<\/p>\n

Border Stability Key to Bilateral Relations: PM Modi<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Reaffirming India\u2019s stance on the importance of peaceful borders, Prime Minister Modi emphasised that peace and tranquillity along the India-China border remain essential prerequisites for the overall development of bilateral ties<\/strong>. Prime Minister Modi welcomed the \u201csteady and positive progress\u201d<\/strong> in bilateral relations since his meeting with President Xi in Kazan<\/strong> last year. He highlighted that this progress was rooted in mutual respect, mutual interest, and mutual sensitivity<\/strong>. Notably, he acknowledged the resumption of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra<\/strong>, a move seen as a positive sign of growing trust and people-to-people engagement between the two nations.<\/p>\n

Regional and Global Significance of India-China Ties<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In a broader diplomatic context, Prime Minister Modi stressed that stable, predictable, and constructive relations between India and China<\/strong> are not only beneficial for the two countries but also critical for regional and global peace and prosperity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wang Yi, for his part, shared a positive assessment of his earlier meetings with External Affairs Minister Dr. S.
